CERAMIC WALL HANGINGS
DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK: They are ceramic plaques that hang on the wall or pottery forms that use slabs of clay in relief on the surfaces to portray imaginary landscapes or clay phenomena that act as similes to represent natural and human conditions. The interplay of light and shadow on concave and convex, opaque and transparent surfaces creating hard and soft edges is intriguing to observe. Natural phenomena, like cracks and paths left by forces of wind and water as in sand dunes, snow drifts and rock formations inspire this exploration. Some titles that illustrate this investigation are: Path, Separation, Pinch,Tuck, Crease, Flow, Slit, Ripples, Curtain, Funnel and Ribbons.
