HILDA K. SCHOENWETTER
The Endless Mountains, Pennsylvania - oil
Hilda Schoenwetter is a landscape painter. She has painted in a number of the states in the eastern United States as well as other parts of the country. Her scenes have included forests, ponds, streams and creeks, the seashore as well as many other localities.
She is a native Philadelphian, graduating from the Philadelphia College of Art (now the University of the Arts). In addition, she received a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Tyler School of Art (Temple University). She is also the recipient of an honorary Doctorate degree from the Moore College of Art and Design. Ms. Schoenwetter also studied with Edgar Whitney of New York, Columbia University, the Pa. Academy of Fine Arts, Ball State University and the Fleischer Art Memorial.

She has had one-woman shows at the Philadelphia Art Alliance, Foulkways at Gwynned, the Moore College of Art and Design, the Women's City Club of Philadelphia, the Hager Art Gallery of Lancaster, The Plastic Club (at the Inn Philadelphia).
Ms. Schoenwetter taught for thirty years at the Moore College of Art and Design. During part of that time she was the Academic Dean of the College. In addition, she directed Moore's Summer School Program, the Young Artists' Workshop and the Art Education Department. She has also taught in the College of Education, Temple University, College and Workshop in Creativity.
She has also exhibited at the Philadelphia Print Club, the Woodmere Art Gallery, the Philadelphia Sketch Club, the Chester County Art Association, the Allens Lane Art Center, the Philadelphia Arts Festival and with other group shows. In addition, she has exhibited at the EWHA University, Seoul, Korea.

Ms. Schoenwetter has served on numerous boards including the Please Touch Museum, the Plastic Club, the Mendelssohn Club and the Philadelphia Protestant Home. She has been a member of numerous committees of the National Art Education Association, the Eastern Art Association, the Educational Testing Service, as well as the Pennsylvania Department of Education and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
Her paintings, (oils and water colors), are represented in many private art collections.
