Juliette Watts


Juliette Watts is an artist based in Collingswood, New Jersey. She has a BFA from Washington University, where she studied figure structure with Barry R. Schactman, and color theory from Bill Kohn, among others. She spent over 20 years as a medical illustrator for the VA Medical Center in Philadelphia and now works as scientific illustrator and graphic designer for the US Forest Service. As an artist-in-residence on the San Juan National Forest in Colorado, she created a nature journaling workshop for the public. In addition, she has studied at Fleischer Art Memorial and continues to attend many scientific illustration and painting workshops. She has illustrated 2 picture books and is currently working on 2 more.

Juliette is a member of the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators, the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, and the Philadelphia Plastic Club. More of her work can be seen at
