I am pleased to be entering my second year at the Plastic Club. This year I have been focusing on abstract painting, but I continue to explore new ideas, subject matter, and techniques. In the life-model workshops, I have been experimenting with translucence, ie. the human figure rendered over a background that may include maps, suminagashi patterns, the written word, etc. Below are three examples of my work. In addition to my interests in landscape, abstract, folk art  etc, I have been attending life model workshops, which help me to discover new possibilities and directions for my work.

Koi Fish, Acrylic, 11" x 14", is from a series of my paintings that contain the use of a checkerboard motif within a scene  of underwater life.

 

I have participated in numerous Plastic Club shows, as well as several Sketch Club  and Greater Norristown Art League shows, and in other venues such as Cheltenham Art Center, Sidetracks Gallery, Philadelphia City Hall, Off the Wall Gallery, and I have a painting in the University of Pennslyvania art collection.

My works have won the following prizes:

Red Turtle is one example from a series of my paintings that contain the use of a checkerboard motif within a scene  of underwater life. This painting is acrylic on canvas and measures 11"x8". It was in a show called " Diversity Within Community" at St John's Church in Elkins Park.

 

 


Summer Swans, Acryllc on Canvas, 8"x 10", has been exhibited at Greater Norristown Art League.
